Music Teacher or lead of music department

We are looking for a music teacher or a lead of music department who responsible for teaching people singing, kids choir, instrumental techniques, scales, sight reading, and music theory, A lead of music department is able to Leading the development of your department's curriculum

  • Assessing lesson plans and current teaching methods

  • Identifying shortcomings in lessons or teaching methods

  • Providing feedback to parents about their child’s progress

A bachelor's degree in Music Education along with high musical competence and proficiency of a musical instrument is required for music teacher positions. Successful music teachers are passionate and possess excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Teaching kids singing solo or in groups. 
Plan and prepare lessons in relation to individual students' needs and examination syllabuses
Teach music theory, aural skills and practical techniques to pupils entering and preparing pupils for examinations
Acquire appropriate teaching materials and resources
Motivate pupils and encourage progress
Create and maintain a network of contacts to ensure work continuity
Communicate with academic staff and parents
Ensure up-to-date knowledge and awareness of examination requirements
Assess pupils' abilities, providing feedback and writing reports

 

Qualifications:
Minimum experience of 2-3 years in teaching kids between 4.5 - 16 years old.

For teaching lead a minimum of 5-15 years of teaching experience in music-teaching

Evidence of enrollment in an accredited college/university in completing a state-approved teacher preparation program within 3 years of the date of hire or in the field experience
Demonstrable knowledge of music curriculum and the ability to implement it
Ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents, and administration
Confident in leading a classroom of students
Able to pass a drug test, fingerprints, and local background check
Strong organizational skills
Able to thrive working in a team environment

Evidence of your right to work :  New Zealand or Australian citizens (including people born in the Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau), or. have a New Zealand residence visa, or. have a New Zealand work visa or a condition on their New Zealand temporary visa showing they are allowed to work here
